The author José Herbert will be signing at the Majuscule bookstore in Cambrai this Saturday, May 4. He will present, among other things, his third detective novel, entitled The Nemean Lion, whose action takes place in Cambrai and Cambrésis. It is the third in the trilogy, after Imago prelati And The Devilish Dolls.

Is the lion of Nemea, cabaret artist, the author of the hanging of corpses on “rag trees” located in northern places of devotion, chapel, oratory and Calvary? The judicial police are led to take an interest in particular worlds and the investigation takes readers to discover unusual places in the company of a quartet of crazy, truculent and crazy characters.

José Herbert combines various ingredients in his detective novels with unusual murders, unusual characters and situations, a touch of great history and a lot of zany and sometimes cynical humor. Born in Aniche, the author held the positions of school director and town hall secretary in Wambaix from 1975. He is the author of around fifteen works: novels, testimonies, detective stories and short stories. He was a historian of Cambrésis and he wrote numerous well-documented articles for a local history magazine.
