It’s called Solar. At the heart of La Comète, the former Comédie de Saint-Etienne, it is one of the only jazz clubs in the Loire. To celebrate World Jazz Day, we decided to go visit it.
It is one of the rare jazz clubs in the Loire. Located in the former Comédie de Saint-Etienne, in the heart of the city, the Solar is finishing its third season.
This concert hall intimate, which can accommodate a few dozen people, is built on the model of an Italian theater. The gilding around the stage and on the balcony adds to the charm of the place.
A program and jam evenings
For three years, the programming team has offered several dozen concerts which sweep across all trends in jazz.
But to stick to the quintessential jazz spirit, evenings are also reserved for jam sessions. Include oxen, where everyone can come with their instrument or borrow one to share a moment on stage with other musicians.
