Montpellier. Samara attack: “No negligence from Arthur Rimbaud college” according to the minister

This Tuesday, on France Inter, Nicole BelloubetMinister of Education, discussed the findings of the inspection report onSamara aggression : “No negligence from the Arthur Rimbaud college in Montpellier, nor any situation of school harassment”.

The two rapporteurs, an inspector and an inspector dispatched at the beginning of April to shed full administrative light, while criminal proceedings were launched, concluded that the management of this college located in Parc 2 000, between Mosson and Pierrevives, did not not bankrupt.

Guest of France Inter, Nicole Belloubet assures that, “in view of the elements brought to their attention, the educational teams did what they could do. The administrative investigation which was handed over to me did not reveal any negligence. The minister adds that, “there was follow-up of the student, Samara was heard several times by the educational teams of the college before the tragedy”.

Tuesday April 2, 2024, around 4 p.m., as Metropolitan revealed exclusively on April 3, Samara, a 4th grade student at Arthur Rimbaud college, was the victim of a violent ambush, 150 meters from the gate which she had left a few minutes later. On the way to the bus stop which took her to the family home in Juvignac, she was ambushed, thrown to the ground and severely beaten.

Indictments

Since then, adolescents aged 14 to 17, including a schoolgirl from the same establishment as Samara presented as the sponsor, have been indicted, in particular for attempted intentional homicide of a 15-year-old minor, by an investigating judge of the Montpellier judicial court.

In recent days, Samara’s mother, a civil party, was received, as well as Me Marc Gallix, one of her lawyers, by the magistrate who interviewed her for almost three hours. They are now in possession of all the legal acts undertaken to date by the investigating judge, who is continuing her investigations.

Marc Gallix does not hide the fact that he is carefully going through all the parts of the procedure to detect whether or not there have been shortcomings at the level of the college and the Rectorate.

In recent days, thanks to a strike called by three unions, the staff of the Arthur Rimbaud college, including the teachers, denounced the media treatment and the accusations deemed unfounded by the mother of Samara, while the Rectorate of the Academy of Montpellier announced the ban on suspected perpetrators under examination from returning to the establishments where they are educated and their rapid summons before a disciplinary committee.
