Yvelines: Enedis completes electrical connections for the Olympics

On April 23, at Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines national velodrome, Enedis presented the progress of the electrical connections At public distribution network of ten competition sites with a view to Paris 2024 Games.

Work to decarbonize the sporting and cultural events sector

The Ile-de-France West regional management of Enedis, which brings together 10 competition venues on its territory, is actively preparing for the Games Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris 2024. The group is committed to taking up the challenge of respecting the specificities of each location, while implementing electrical connection solutions adapted to the heritage desired by each site.

Enedis, which wants to be official supporter of the Paris 2024 Games, actively contributes to supporting the mutation of the sector of sporting and cultural events towards less carbon-intensive usess. During this global event, the group will demonstrate its ability to operate while being connected to the public electricity network, and not to conventional generators, and thus be more responsible.

The SQY Vélodrome connected to the public electricity distribution network

In the Yvelines, at the Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines national Vélodrome, Enedis has carried out significant work in this direction. The Olympic site benefited from trasecurity and restructuring values of the public electricity distribution network: installation of new electrical substations, new delivery points, renewal of kilometers of cables, etc.

At the same time, several remote-controlled operating devices (OMT) have been installed. These devices will allow more efficient management of the electrical network remotely, in particular to optimize energy resources.

Zero-emission generators at the Château de Versailles

Another Yvelin site to host a sporting competition during the Paris 2024 Games, namely the temporary equestrian and para-equestrian competitions, the Castle of Versailles has received 10 Zero emission generators. These types of large batteries have already been tested on Enedis construction sites and are suitable for sites with occasional electricity needs. This is the first time that these generators will be used as part of an Olympic and Paralympic event. With a power of 160kW, this solution is an alternative respectful of the environment compared to conventional generators: Zero-emission generators are fewer CO2 emittersquieter and offer more comfort to the technicians responsible for their use and maintenance. security.
