A helping hand to restore the Boisgervilly church in Ille-et-Vilaine

It is one of the hundred religious buildings selected by the Heritage Foundation to benefit from an advantageous tax exemption system. This is part of the national collection of donations to save and maintain the religious heritage of villages, announced in September 2023 by Emmanuel Macron, which has already brought in 2.3 million euros offered by 12,000 donors.

Water infiltration, falling stones, faulty heating… It’s quite a project that must be carried out to give new life to the Sainte-Trinité church in Boisgervilly (Ille-et-Vilaine), located 30 kilometers away. West of Rennes. It is one of 400 churches in Ille-et-Vilaine. The building was built in the 19th century, between 1859 and 1862. “Three of the four bells went to the foundry in Villedieu-les-Poêles (Manche) to be restored. Work is planned for the roof and the framework…explains Mayor Bernard Piedvache. We have decided to close the church during the construction, since November 2023…
