Enedis agents mobilized all weekend in Corrèze to restore the electricity network

Up to 5,000 households in Corrèze were ultimately deprived of electricity for varying periods of time last weekend. Around a hundred Enédis agents were mobilized on Saturday and Sunday to restore the network, helped by agents from Haute-Vienne and several companies.

The bad weather over the weekend and more particularly the gales on Saturday will have ultimately disrupted the lives of many Corréz residents.
In total, according to calculations by Enedis agents, up to 5,000 homes were deprived of electricity for varying periods of time. “We had a lot of calls from Saturday April 27 at the end of the morning but the peak of incidents occurred around 5 p.m. This is when the number of customers without electricity was the highest. ” specifies Philippe Vaur, the territorial delegate of Enedis.
Fortunately, by Friday evening, many agents had been “pre-mobilized”. The next day, they were able to intervene fairly quickly depending on the difficulties: It was mainly the medium voltage lines which were affected by falling trees or the breakage of wooden poles and even concrete poles, and it was these medium voltage lines which supply the greatest number of homes in Corrèze”, explains Philippe Vaur.

By Sunday, almost everything was repaired

It was therefore necessary to prioritize interventions on these famous lines in order to restore “power” as quickly as possible and to as many residents as possible.
Around midnight, Saturday evening, a lot of work had been accomplished and Enedis already had only 1,200 customers still without electricity.
The interventions continued on Sunday and according to Philippe Vaur, by 7 p.m., almost all homes had found the light. “There were still around twenty houses at the end of the line which had to wait until Monday to be connected to the network.”
This Monday, in the middle of the day, only a few very isolated houses could still possibly not have been repaired.
The Brive sector was relatively spared from this gale. Most of the disruptions took place between Tulle and Ussel with a big black spot in Argentat-sur-Dordogne and more generally Xaintrie.
Around a hundred Corrèze agents were mobilized all weekend to carry out these interventions. They were joined and helped by agents from Haute-Vienne and several companies, subcontractors of Enedis.
