In one month, between March and April, there were no less than 50 births And it’s not finished yet ! “There are still two or three to come, and in August, around fifteen to be born,” indicates Aurélien Vautier.

“We especially know the mothers and some are easier to remember, like Prune and Paillette because they are twins and have ears like the wings of an airplane,” he laughs.

Of the 50 births, half are males that they will not keep because it is necessary renew the blood. The Goat buys males when necessary, and she already has three goats at the right age.

Once the kids are born, they must be weighed every week, then a selection is made according to the best growth.

120 births per year

As for the females, they keep around ten. In relation to their mother, in relation to potential that she had, but also depending on the growth of the little one. “There are also always favorites. Just because we find a kid too cute or because we find its color magnificent. »
