The Friborg Red Cross was able to support around 250 Friborg families with modest incomes in March and April. This is thanks to the “2x Christmas” action organized in collaboration with the SSR, Swiss Post and Coop. The concept is simple: during the end-of-year holiday period, businesses and the population are called upon to send a package containing food and hygiene products to vulnerable people. These packages are sent free of charge to the logistics center of the Swiss Red Cross, then redistributed to the various cantonal actions, explains the Friborg Red Cross in a press release.
The latter notes that “inflation exerts considerable pressure on already restricted budgets”. Its social assistance service also helped 840 adults and children last year.
