The sub-prefect of Bandafassi (eastern Senegal), Lamine Diop, installed the new office of the Local Artisanal Fishing Council (CLPA) in the departments of Kédougou and Salémata (south-east), to improve at the local level, the fishery products chain, informed the APS.
During the ceremony, the sub-prefect of Bandafassi asked fishing stakeholders in the departments of Kédougou and Salémata to organize themselves more, to resolve the difficulties they encounter on the Gambia River.
“We are here today, to set up the office of the Local Artisanal Fishing Council of the departments of Kédougou and Salémata, united for better management of the value chain of the fishing economy,” said Mr. Diop . Now, it is up to the established office to address the concerns of local fishing stakeholders and make proposals to the maritime and inland fisheries department,” he added.
He reiterated the availability of administrative authorities to support them in the operation of the local artisanal fishing council of Kédougou and Salémata.
