The Moroccan Agency for Sustainable Energy (Masen) has launched a tender process for the Nassim wind power program, with a total capacity of 400MW. This step will serve as a “prequalification for the selection of the private partner who will be in charge of financing, construction and operation”.

Interested companies can download the prequalification document at the link https://etendering.masen.ma. Masen informs that the deadline for submitting applications is scheduled for June 24, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. Moroccan time.

This project is part of “the acceleration of the deployment of renewable energies”, in particular through the implementation of renewable energy projects, indicated a press release from the agency on Thursday.

This project is also “a continuation of recent significant advances relating to the development of solar projects with storage Noor Midelt I, Noor Midelt II and Noor Midelt III with a cumulative capacity of 1,600MW, of the six power plants of the Noor Atlas Solar Program (300MW) as well as the Nassim Koudia Al Baida wind farm (100MW), the construction of which has been completed,” said the same Source.

This includes two wind farms, including Extension Nassim Koudia Al Baida (150MW), in the provinces of Fahs-Anjra and M’diq-Fnideq, as well as the Nassim Dar Chaoui wind farm (250MW), in the provinces of Tangier and Tetouan.

“Due to its Project Financing structure, this new Program will promote greater involvement of the private sector in the deployment of renewable energy with the participation of commercial banks, Moroccan and international, in its financing,” indicates MASEN.

The objective will above all be to actively support the national objectives of decarbonization of the electricity system before 2030 and of the electricity mix with at least 52% renewable capacity.
