The east of the province will be treated to a mild and sunny day on Saturday, before the arrival of a cloud front from the west, which will bring precipitation in the evening.
Clouds coming from the Great Lakes will cross Quebec from the southwest to the northeast of the province this weekend. Precipitation in the form of rain is expected from Saturday morning in the far west and late at night or Sunday morning at the other end of the province, according to predictions from Environment Canada.
“We may even have thunderstorms in the Montreal region on Sunday morning, don’t be surprised if you hear thunder,” explained Environment Canada meteorologist Serge Mainville.
“We expect very mild temperatures throughout the province on Saturday,” said the expert.
In the south of the province, particularly in the Montreal region, average temperatures of 18°C are forecast for Saturday. The sun is expected during the day as well, with the arrival of cloud cover only from 8:00 p.m., according to predictions from the federal agency.
In the Quebec region, an average temperature of 17°C is expected and no showers are forecast before early Sunday morning.
In the west of the province, the entire weekend will take place under clouds. From Saturday morning, gray weather will prevail in Abitibi and showers will follow early in the afternoon. High chances of thunderstorms overnight are announced by Environment Canada.
A few sunny spells are expected across the country on Sunday, during a day that will be cloudy and rainy.
