There were more than 200 of them, with the sub-prefect Michel Gouriou, the senator Michel Masset, the departmental councilor Valérie Tonin, the president of Albret community Alain Lorenzelli, the president of the CAF Béatrice Lavit, and elected officials, Thursday April 25, to have come to salute the memory of Simone Veil and the creation of a place which now bears her name. A Social Living Space.

Ludovic Biasotto, mayor of Lavardac, chaired this inaugural evening: “I will begin by saluting, in addition to those present, Pierre Mader and his successor, Sébastien Crussière, for the stubbornness they have shown to bring this beautiful project to fruition, with a thought moved towards Stéphane Husson, our architect, who died last February. I also extend my thanks to the institutions for their financial aid: the State (100,000 euros), the CAF (50,000 euros grant and 50,000 euros loan at 0%). I will not return to the life of the one who will now “watch over” this complex. The choice of its name shows our commitment to gender equality, human dignity, social justice and cohabitation among all. Two rooms have been created within this space, one of 150 m² which will be the place where the circus school, run by Coline and Romain, will flourish. »

Corinne Bousquet, convinced representative of the Social Life Space (EVS), presented this place: “It is a 250 m² resource center offering services and activities with social, educational and cultural purposes promoting local initiatives. Open to all, it will also welcome neighbors from neighboring communities. Thank you to everyone who participated in its creation.”
