Morocco and France want to strengthen their cooperation in energy and rail mobility – Telquel.ma

VSThe talks were an opportunity for the two ministers to discuss the economic dynamics in both Morocco and as well as the development of cooperation and partnership relations between the two countries.

Bilateral cooperation in the areas of clean energy and rail mobility was also at the center of discussions between the two ministers. In this sense, Bruno Le Maire declared that the objective was to “connect forces” of the two countries in the industrial sector, adding that this sector requires clean energy.

We want to open up to new cooperation in the field of clean energy between France and Morocco, including green hydrogen, wind and solar energy.”, he said, adding that he had also offered his counterpart cooperation on small and medium-sized nuclear projects.

Regarding mobility, the French minister expressed his country’s desire to cooperate with Morocco in this area with the provision of ordinary trains and high-speed trains and the training of technical personnel in the sector.

For her part, the Moroccan minister stressed that tensions in the world demonstrated “the urgency and importance of guaranteeing energy sovereignty”. She also added that Morocco’s hosting of the 2030 World Cup — alongside Spain and Portugal — was the perfect opportunity.to accelerate projects linked to mobility, infrastructure and talent training”.

Nadia Fettah thus highlighted the relations of friendship and cooperation maintained by the two countries, underlining the importance for Morocco and France to take into account the geopolitical, social and societal challenges to be met.

The strong ties of friendship and economic relations between the two countries could serve as a model of cooperation between the two shores of the Mediterranean”, she said, emphasizing the importance of paying more attention to the issue of energy sovereignty, which involves providing clean and sustainable energy to both the population and the industrial sector.

The minister further indicated that substantial efforts had been made to provide adequate responses to universal issues affecting the world population, particularly in Europe and Africa.

For his part, Bruno Le Maire discussed the prospects of the economic partnership between France and Morocco as well as the cooperation of the two countries with Europe and Africa.
