Jean-Marie Bigard facing Bouillon in a joke duel in Cugy

Bouillon will challenge Jean-Marie Bigard in a joke duel

Posted today at 4:06 p.m.

Lovers of schoolboy jokes have reason to rejoice. Under the banner of “Ass and Shirt”, a colorful encounter takes shape between the French comedian Jean-Marie Bigard and his counterpart from the Jorat plateau, Denis Meylan, known as “Bouillon”.

The two witz specialists that we don’t necessarily tell children about will face each other in a duel, undertaken by the organizer David Chassot. Bigard had already faced the Belgian comedian Renaud Rutten in such a formula, with some success. The meeting scheduled for Friday May 3, from 8:30 p.m. in Cugy, in Friborg’s Broye, could lead to a French-speaking tour. Three questions for Bouillon.

Every year you fill the large hall in Thierrens during the Revue. Bigard filled the Stade de . Doesn’t that scare you?

No, he is younger than me and therefore owes me respect. I have at least 5000 witz in reserve, so I don’t have to fear it. With age, I have a little less breath, but I compensate with experience. And in fact, we’re going to team up by telling our jokes on different themes that we’re going to define over the next few days in rehearsal.

You met last year in . How did your meeting go?

The flow went straight away. I already knew him from television, but he had never heard of me. After the success of his duel with Rutten, he was looking for a local French-speaking comedian to do the same for us. I think he liked my Vaudois accent.

If this premiere works, a tour could follow. With this in mind, should we prohibit certain themes?

It wouldn’t be bad to embark on a tour after more than fifty years of performing. But that doesn’t mean there will be any prohibitions. We’ve already slandered old people, racists and religion. It’s not because we’re joking that we don’t like these themes.

“Ass and shirt”. Battle of jokes with Bigard and Bouillon, Friday May 3, large hall of Cugy, at 8:30 p.m. Tickets under www.eventfrog.ch.
