As announced in mid-February, the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) finally appealed the suspension of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) imposed on Krépin Diatta.

On February 15, in a comical about-face to say the least, the FSF confirmed the suspension of the versatile Lions defender, Krépin Diatta (41 caps, 2 goals) by the CAF. Indeed, 24 hours after having vigorously denied the first rumors in the press, and in particular The Observerthe body formalized the sanction pronounced against the Monegasque.

The Fed has taken note of its appeal

Moment chosen by the FSF to make its appeal. In fact, according to information from PressAfrik, which cites internal CAF sources, the body led by Augustin Senghor referred the matter to the Confederation’s Appeals Chamber. Objective ? Overturn the suspension of the Disciplinary Commission.

Contacted by L’Observateur, the general secretary of the FSF Victor Ciss, confirmed that the latter has “made the call on time”. The Appeals Chamber should meet before the match against the Leopards on June 3, and could thus rule favorably. Pending the verdict, Diatta should not be selected for the next two matches.
