This is how Geneva Airport celebrated “Star Wars”

Every year, fans of the George Lucas saga celebrate May 4 as “Star Wars Day.” Geneva-Cointrin airport also paid its respects, and suffice to say that they pulled out all the stops.

Like every year, May 4 is an opportunity for fans to celebrate Star Wars on this day dedicated to them. Although the first episode of the saga was released on May 25, 1977, May 4 was the day chosen in reference to the famous line spoken by the Jedi: “May the Force be with you” which phonetically coincides with the date in English: “May the 4th”.

This day gives fans from around the world the opportunity to come together, watch reruns of the films or even benefit from announcements from Disney regarding the future of the franchise.

The Geneva airport communications team took advantage of this day to create video content on social networks with a short film featuring soldiers of the Empire trying to pass through the security gate.

In the video, one of the airport security guards appears unaware that it is a special day for fans of Star Wars.

The two stormtroopers are also seen visiting airport stores, posing for photos and seeing their flight to the planet Tatooine displayed on the screen. Yes, even employees serving the Galactic Empire need a vacation sometimes.

Dear readers, take a deep breath and prepare to welcome the unlikely return of the most controversial shoes of all time: ballet flats.

Yes, you read correctly. So those little flat slippers that make our feet stink (to the point where we really wonder if it’s worth taking them off) are officially back. And for good reason, 40% more of you searched for ballerinas on Google. Logical, you might say, with the arrival of sunny days.
