The Nouvelle-Aquitaine Conservatory of Natural Spaces recently welcomed a group of 12 Lot-et-Garonnais students, training in BTSA (1) nature management and protection. The organization which offers this training, remotely, regularly organizes group sessions with its students, to introduce them in situ to “heritage species from different environments, and their management methods”.

During this session dedicated to dry lawns, the group of students has been able to discover, since the end of March, four sites of the department, its managers and its operators, “in order to address different aspects of the profession of natural space manager. »

Between two sessions exploring the world of orchids and restoration work, the BTS students discussed methods of maintaining limestone lawns. They also discussed, with their interlocutors, the difficulties encountered by managers regarding the interventions to be carried out and the priorities to be given in certain sectors, depending on the issues.

See you on May 25

After having surveyed the limestone hillsides of Lot-et-Garonne, this group session, punctuated by visits to orchards, ended with a mock test of the BTS in Pinel-Hauterive, with a practical case study of the Pech de Pasture.

Also note that this year, on the occasion of the Nature Festival, the CEN Nouvelle-Aquitaine is organizing an outing in partnership with the French Orchidophily Society, on the Pech de Pasture site. The event will take place on Saturday May 25. “This walk will allow you to discover the many species of wild orchids in this sensitive natural area,” announce local officials and their partners for this event. The ride will depart from the town of Pinel at 10 a.m.
