Payerne returns to checkout for its swimming pool

Published today at 2:28 p.m.

If the Payerne swimming pool has improved in operating quality and achieved its third record year in 2023 with more than 70,000 entries despite a reduced opening period, the renovation site undertaken will still be discussed by the Municipal Council. The Municipality is requesting an additional, interest-free loan of 620,000 francs to be allocated to the cooperative operating company, of which the city holds 84.5% of the share capital of 1.574 million.

Between August 29, 2022 and June 16, 2023, the renovation work suffered additional costs due to the increase in the price of materials, the installation of remote heating or capital gains linked to the restaurant construction site. . Work was also delayed due to lack of resources. If validated by the legislature, the new loan will make it possible to modernize the entrance to the site and install the safety barrier of a slide.

Credits worth 5.4 million were validated in 2020, including 2.4 at the expense of the municipality.
