This weekend, Pamiers will come alive for the European Heritage Days. A varied program will offer visitors the opportunity to (re)discover the city from a different perspective, through its cultural and historical heritage, with visits, exhibitions and activities that will delight young and old alike. A perfect opportunity to extend the tribute to Gabriel Fauré – paid on Sunday, September 15, the last at the Notre-Dame-du-Camp church in Pamiers – while exploring the hidden treasures of the composer’s birthplace.

On the program

  • Exhibition “Gabriel Fauré”: An exhibition to discover the life and work of Gabriel Fauré, proposed by the city of Pamiers and the association Musiques au Pays de Gabriel Fauré. (September 21-22, Pamiers Media Library)
  • Exhibition “The Museum of Homo Sapiens”: the artist TTY presents a dystopian vision of humanity, with works and artistic techniques mixing a futuristic world and a more archaic one. (September 20-22, Le Carmel)
  • Guided tours of Carmel: Discover the 17th century monastery, from the cloister to the chapel, passing by the cells of the Carmelites. (September 21-22 at 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. – 2 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.) Reservation required at the Tourist Office
  • Film screening: Short films about Pamiers made with locals, broadcast by Télé Buissonnière. (September 20 at 8:30 p.m., Théâtre de verdure)
