A collective of resistance to the extreme right in Deux-Sèvres was created in the summer of 2024 following the European and legislative elections. Supported by 16 organizations including the CGT, FSU, Nous Toutes 79 and Cimade, it wishes to propose a movement “to put an end to the extreme right’s excessively high scores”explains David Bodin, general secretary of the CGT 79.

To do this, the collective plans to invest in public space, going from town to town, to carry out “popular education” and create a space for debate. “We want to reach out to people who are interested in the far right and destroy the idea that they are helping the middle classes.”

The collective is based on a common base of demands, notably demanding a general increase in salaries and contributions and their indexation to inflation, the withdrawal of the pension reform or remunerative prices for farmers.

March for peace

He also invites people to join the march for peace on Saturday, September 21, 2024, as part of the dedicated world day. The march will start at 10:45 a.m. at Place des Halles in and end at the Human Rights forecourt in front of the town hall. This march will be preceded by the rally for peace in Palestine, scheduled for 10 a.m. at the same location.

The movement aims to expand. Any interested person, adhering to the common core, can contact the movement at this address: [email protected]
