This Friday, September 13, Quentin Gobet, back of Niort Rugby club has lost his life in a road accident. He died after the vehicle he was in was hit by a reckless driver. In mourning, the club wanted to pay tribute to him and cancelled all matches that were to be held this weekend.
The accident occurred while the rugby player was stopped at a red light with his partner. A second vehicle then hit the car at high speed. An investigation has been opened.
Quentin has been playing in Niort since 2023
Since 2023, Quentin Gobet has been playing with the Niort Rugby Club. Previously, the 27-year-old played for Valence (Drôme). He notably played four seasons in this club with one season played in Pro D2.
His former club also expressed its “deep emotion” and offered “sincere condolences to his parents, his brother, his partner and his loved ones”.
