The services of Weather placed the department of Upper Corsica on orange alert for “storms and rain-flooding” this Tuesday, September 17. The alert will take effect from 9 p.m. this Tuesday and should last until midnight tomorrow, Wednesday.

The department of South Corsica was also placed on yellow alert for “storms and rain-flooding” from 6 p.m. this Tuesday until midnight tomorrow Wednesday.

Météo France indicates “that a rain storm from Italy will reach Corsica this Tuesday at the end of the day, and will become very active in Haute-Corse until Wednesday evening. The north of the island is particularly affected with fairly significant rainfall accumulations.”

Precautionary advice

The utmost caution is recommended when traveling and practicing outdoor activities.

– Slow down the speed on the road

– Do not enter a submerged route under any circumstances.

– Stay at home, as much as possible

– Do not take shelter under a tree

– Store sensitive and potentially damaged items

– Report fires caused by lightning strikes immediately
