What magnificent spectacle offered by nature! From this Saturday, September 20, 2024, free evenings will be organized in the North to listen to the deer bellows who populate the territory.

Until October 1, 2024, foresters from the National Forestry Office (ONF), volunteers from the Objectif Mormal association and the Avesnois tourist office are offering free evenings of listening to the rut, and a photo exhibition on deer under the Halle de la pâture d’Haisne in Locquignol.

“The rutting period is particularly sensitive for deer. Receptive to smells, noises and movements, the slightest disturbance can disrupt their behaviour, or even prevent these animals from reproducing,” comments the ONF.

It is during six outings, supervised by specialists, that you will be able to discover this key period in the life of deer while limiting any risk of disturbance for the animal.

Free, places can be reserved at the Avesnois tourist office on 03 27 20 54 70, by email at [email protected] or on the site tourisme-avesnois.com. Meetings are set for 9 p.m. at the Haisne pasture in Locquignol, on the Quesnoy road. Duration: between 1 and 1.5 hours.
