Three new stations will be built on the TCL tramway network in the first quarter of 2025, Sytral announced on Monday.

While a lot of work is currently underway on the tramway network with the extension of the T6 and the creation of the T9 and T10, Sytral Mobilités, the company organising public transport in , announced this Monday the creation of three new tram stations in the first quarter of 2025.

In the first quarter of 2025, the tramway network will have three new stations on lines T3 / T7 and T5: the Lycée Colonel Beltrame station, the Décines Roosevelt station and the Chassieu ZAC du Chêne station.” details Sytral.

4.2 million euros of work

Work on the creation of these three new stations began a few days ago. These three new stations will be 100% accessible to people with reduced mobility and will be 42 metres long.To bring freshness and nature into the city, the areas around the stations will be planted with trees and/or beds of grass.” completes Sytral in a press release.

The work to create these three new stations will cost a total of 4.2 million euros.

At the same time, Sytral announced that it had ordered 35 new trams which are currently being deployed on the busiest lines of the network, namely lines T1, T2, T3 and T4. These new 43-metre-long trams “increase capacity by more than 30% compared to the current 32-metre trains” concludes Sytral.
