On September 22 and 23, the city of Pamiers will host the “Professional Hotel and Food Industry Trade Fair”, PHAR 09. An important event for manufacturers and industrialists, as well as for Ariège professionals in the sector.

An essential event in the food industry, the Salon des Partenaires Ariégeois is back in a new form. The General Confederation of Food Retailing of Ariège (CGAD 09), the Union of Trades and Industries of Hospitality of Ariège (UMIH 09) and the town hall of Pamiers have joined forces to co-organize the “Rencontres PHAR09” trade fair on September 22 and 23.

If these meetings usually took place in Mazères, its relocation to the town of Pamiers is not insignificant and has something to delight Frédérique Thiennot, mayor of Pamiers. “I am delighted that this show is coming to our town. If Pamiers represents 10% of the population of Ariège, it also represents 56% of the wealth of the department. When people come to the area, the Hotel and Restaurant sector is their first contact, it is the first image they have. They are on the front line, they are our ambassadors.”

Although they have known each other for a long time, Gianni Palmerio, president of UMIH 09 and Anthony Parolin-Maurette, president of CGAD 09, have joined forces on this project. “We have wanted to create something together for a while now,” confides Gianni Palmerio. “Pamiers is an important place in the department, it is a central city for everyone. So it made sense to do it here. In addition, the Carmel is a magnificent place, it offers an ideal setting for the meal and the gala that we are organizing.”

Around fifty stands open to all

Split into two parts, a trade fair organized in the Fernan room, and a Gala evening at the Carmel, this meeting aims to be the perfect opportunity to take the time to exchange and discover the latest innovations for all professionals in the sector. This trade fair, also organized in partnership with PBD 09, Subra Henry, Sysco, Ariège boissons distribution and the Uncicom group, also aims to be a showcase of the profession to the public.

“It is open to everyone, to professionals of course, but also to individuals. We want to allow parents who have children interested in the field to also come and discover our professions”, indicates the president of UMIH 09. Also open to everyone by reservation, the gala evening will be an opportunity to taste local products, made by Ariège artisans.

The show will open its doors on Sunday, September 22nd from 10am in the Fernan room, with an inauguration at 11am on the program. Tastings and numerous demonstrations on the various stands can be discovered from 11:30am to 11pm with the participation of the Guide du Rouxblard. On Monday, September 23rd, the show will open its doors from 10am to 5pm. The gala will begin at the Carmel, in Pamiers at 6:30pm.
