A 5-year-old girl was found dead with her throat slit at her home in Courbevoie (Hauts-de-Seine) on the night of Thursday to Friday, “in a context of separation” of his parents, concordant sources explained to AFP.
The father, who jumped from the 2nd floor balcony after stabbing himself in the throat, was hospitalized in serious condition. He died on Saturday of his injuries at the Geroges-Pompidou hospital in Paris. “The person concerned died, without having been in a state to be questioned” said the Nanterre prosecutor’s office.
Neighbors called the police after hearing screams and seeing the girl’s mother come out of her apartment, a police source said. Another person familiar with the matter indicates that she was “naked and shocked”. It was around 12:15 a.m.
The man, born in 1982, refused to open the door to the police. By the time they managed to force the door open, he stabbed himself and jumped from the second floor. Once inside, the police discovered the body of the little girl in the bathtub, with stab wounds to the neck. She will die a few minutes later.
The mother, born in 1986, was hospitalized in shock.
Her ex-spouse was the subject of a removal measure and was prohibited from going to the family home and to the town of Courbevoie, according to this same source, which adds that “multiple complaints” for non-presentation of a child and for violence had been filed by both parents.
The mother had filed a request with the family court of Nanterre on May 5, and the protective order, prohibiting the man from coming into contact with his ex-partner and transferring parental authority exclusively to the mother, was pronounced on Thursday, said a judicial source.
A decision that may have pushed him to commit the irreparable.
“Courteous”, strange behavior”
A few days after the events, the profile of the father takes shape. In the building where the drama took place, tongues are loosened. Locals describe him as a man “courteous”but who could have “weird behavior”.
Before the girl’s murder, he had posted posters in the lobby of the building accusing his ex-girlfriend of stealing his daughter. Both were then in a hotel room financed by an association of Courbevoie.
“He harassed her morally and physically”has indeed detailed the friend of the mother of Chloé who warned the relief. “He controlled everything in her life, even managed her salaries and her bank account and left her just 10 euros a day. In other words, he kept her under his thumb.”
