Graphics on map

Alain Baudry has recently offered another aspect of his creativity: graphic design on cards, “a parenthesis to get me out of the mind of large canvases which take me weeks”, he explains. With a simple black indelible Bic pen and a white felt-tip pen to enhance the lighting effects, it highlights local heritage through the strong elements of each town or village. His recipe remains simple: on maps collected from post office calendars, road maps, staff maps or a map of the metro, he draws a monument that relates to the place.

To date and until 1is February, under the influence of Yann Chapacou, he unveiled 22 of these works in the fine arts department of the Peiro-Caillaud stationery at 7, boulevard Recouvrance in Saintes. With an opening planned for this Friday, January 17, at 6:30 p.m. Visitors will be able to discover on map backgrounds, a complete view of the port of , a small montage on the Ile de Ré with its cheeky donkeys, Saintes with a view of the three bell towers and its arena, the fishermen’s huts of Marennes, Paris with a metro entrance, etc. Creations offered for sale but which the artist can, upon request, reproduce or create other, more significant ones.
