Mahi Binebine, when silence sculpts the human essence

Among the works that will be unveiled, a series of around thirty pieces made in tar on tissue paper promises to captivate. This choice of materials, both austere and poetic, will evoke the tensions between fragility and resilience. Some of these creations, already included in the collections of the Pérez Museum Miami (PAMM), underline the universal echo of the artist’s work.

Gallery 208 plans a thoughtful staging, where the works will dialogue with the green environment of the Mandarin Oriental in Marrakech.

On February 1, 2025, Mahi Binebine will be present to interact with the public during two exclusive sessions. These meetings will offer a rare opportunity to discover the artist’s thoughts on his creative process. In an intimate atmosphere, limited to 60 participants per session, visitors will also be able to acquire numbered and signed lithographs.

Alongside this exhibition, Galerie 208 will participate in two major events: the 1-54 contemporary African art fair and the Marrakech African Book Festival, two events where Mahi Binebine will occupy a central place. Co-founder of the literary festival, the artist continues to assert his role in promoting African and Moroccan culture.
