The Balarucois won his two fights, the weekend of January 11 and 12.
Robert Perez competed last weekend in Istres in the French Amateur Elite championship. The boxer from the Ring Olympique Balarucois was thus opposed, on Saturday January 11, to Rayane Loufti (Ariane Boxing Club, Contes) for the round of 16. And it didn’t take long, since he was declared the winner by a referee’s stop in the second round.
A victory which allowed him to continue the next day with the round of 16. Still in Istres, Robert Perez was then opposed to Saad Anki (Grand Est).
Pride
And the fight once again did not come to an end. After an involuntary head clash, the Balarucois was injured above the arch and, as stipulated in the regulations, the fight was stopped and the score was then taken into account. Unanimously by the judges, Robert Perez was declared the winner on points, after two contested rounds.
He is therefore qualified for the quarter-finals of the French Amateur Elite championship. To the delight of Fred Perez, his trainer father: “Robert enters the first eight French people, it’s huge given the level in the “less than 71 kg” category. I am proud of his progress. He’s starting to catch up, or even soon overtake dad! “.
