RTL Infos – “Pierre Chabrier lied to you”: The Vilebrequin affair takes a new… unexpected turn!

Crankshaft was the largest youtube channel dedicated to automobiles in France (still counting nearly 2.5 million subscribers), famous for its schoolboy videos of vehicle tests and popularization (“vultech”).

But this name Vilebrequin is now synonymous with a open war between Sylvain Levy (“Sylvain Lyve” on YouTube, 1 million subscribers) and Pierre Chabrier (500,000 subscribers).

After a video by Pierre Chabrier which caused a lot of noise last August, Sylvain Levy comes out of his silence and gives his version of the story at the start of 2025. And clearly, he does not wish his ex-comparison a happy new year. In a nearly hour-long video published this Thursday evening, he announces it in the title: “Pierre Chabrier lied to you“.

“To properly attack 2025, I want to end this story” declares the YouTuber who is working to dismantle Pierre Chabrier’s arguments one by one. “We have 40 minutes of video where Pierre destroys me (…) I’m fed up with having messages and comments from people who don’t know me, don’t know Pierre, don’t know the story, but who, nevertheless, open their mouth“Sylvain swears he did everything to keep this matter private to spare their fans.”the painful separation that was Vilebrequin“. “But now I’m fed up“.

Theft, lies, adultery… Heavy accusations

And he begins with a heavy accusation. “Pierre stole the money from the Vilebrequin account“, with the complicity of a bank agency where he allegedly “eight million euros“. “He took out a cashier’s check for the full amount of the account and today, this cashier’s check is on his desk. And, it’s all the more serious since today, as president of Vilebrequin, I cannot pay the 92,000 euros in taxes that we owe, since Pierre has the check hostage on his desk“, argues the YouTuber.

Then comes the question of Multipla, which has caused a lot of ink to flow. In his video, Pierre Chabrier, sometimes in tears, accused his ex-associate of having “sold himself” the “1000tipla“a Fiat Multipla minivan from the 1990s that they had tampered with to increase it to nearly 1,300 horsepower, generating a worldwide buzz which led to the creation of an event, the “Merguez tuning show”.

In response, Sylvain explains that Pierre decided to sell to himself, and without his consent, another vehicle of which they were co-owners: a Volkswagen Phaeton. Sylvain Levy therefore argues that he was afraid that Pierre would do the same with the Multipla, and that he therefore decided to buy it, at the price of 132,000 euros, he reveals.

It shows a screenshot of a letter which would come from Pierre Chabrier’s lawyer who would like to recover the Multipla to expose and exploit it. to make money“, “while Sylvain rolls the Multipla and Sylvain pays insurance, fees and maintenance“. He also accuses his former partner of having wanted to buy the two cars for his bar-garage project called Racebox.

“Pierre wanted to turn it upside down with the Multipla […] And there, Pierre, currently, bathes in my tickets“, says Sylvain Levy, showing several screenshots as proof.

This is also one of the notable differences between the two YouTubers in their videos: where Pierre Chabrier mainly gave a testimony and shared his emotion, Sylvain Levy provides numerous documents (screenshots, letters from lawyers…) to support his statements.

“Pierre learned to fake tears on Top Gear”

Sylvain Levy then points out Pierre Chabrier’s companion, hired on a fixed-term contract to help with the production of Vilebrequin and who was not renewed a few days before her permanent contract. “This is one of the causes of Vilebrequin stopping.” said Sylvain. “I’m going to try to be very concise about the girlfriend’s story. It’s just Pierre who tried to hook up his girl and did nothing“He points out the lack of commitment of this employee whom he even accuses of having spent part of her working time organizing “vacation in Italy“.

But Sylvain Levy goes further into the scabrous since he accuses his ex-partner of adultery : “Cheating on your girl at Pierre’s house was an Olympic sport“, he denounces, again showing screenshots, while Pierre affirmed in his video that it was the conflict at Vilebrequin that cost him his relationship.

Sylvain Levy goes so far as to question the sincerity of Pierre Chabrier’s tears in his video last August: “Pierre learned to fake tears on Top Gear, with mint crystals” placed under his eyes to provoke these tears, he assures.

Sylvain Levy concludes by returning to the causes which pushed him to stop their channel, evoking two moments. The first goes back to their participation in the GP Explorer (a Formula 4 race organized by Squeezie). It was “the happiest day of his life“, proclaims Sylvain who won the race, affirming that Pierre Chabrier would have had a very bad time this day where he did not shine on the circuit.

“Never, in my life, will I do something with Pierre Chabrier again”

The other trigger is linked to the filming of Top Gear in Germany. The duo was in fact at the helm of the French version of the legendary British show, which ended after a single season with questionable results. In his video, Pierre Chabrier stated “I completely disagree with how this played out. I had no choice but to endure this shutdown“.

Sylvain, for his part, affirms that this filming “separated us. To summarize, Pierre was abject, whether with the team or me. Pierre was frustrated at having a less efficient car than mine and not being the character with the most efficient car on set“, explains the YouTuber. Pierre would have even sulked one day of filming on the Nürburgring, a legendary and perilous circuit in Germany.

To dampen the last hopes of the optimists, and send a message to Pierre Chabrier who during a stream declared do not completely close the door to the overhaul of the Vilebrequin duoSylvain Levy declares: “I might hurt some people. Never, in my life, will I do something with Pierre Chabrier again“.

Before ending with a “message of hope for 2025: I will do everything to get the Multipla rolling. We’re going to have crazy projects and today, I’m proud, I’m happy to have managed to create an incredible team. And today I’m living my best life“.
