However, in recent years, the couple has had to face many rumors surrounding their relationship. This Friday, January 10, the 51-year-old actor is starring in the Netflix film To Life. Feature film in which his son Marcel, 13, makes an appearance. On this occasion, during an interview with Guillaume Pley for his format Legend broadcast on Youtube, on January 8, the star of Jappeloup made rare confidences about his relationship with the Oscar-winning actress. While the journalist asks him the secrets of the longevity of his relationship with Marion Cotillard, the father of Marcel and Louise admits that it is not always “obvious”. “Like all couples, we go through wonderful times and shitty times because it’s been a very long time and it’s true that it’s not always easy to live with someone”he explains.

Doing the same job was also an additional difficulty, admits the actor: “It’s complicated for both of us. We experience very, very strong things in emotion, in feelings (…) When we don’t work for a long period of time and we see the other going on set, doing promotion, going to previews and that we stay at home, there are times that should not be easy.” However, Guillaume Canet considers himself lucky: “Until now, I have had the chance to work a lot at the same time as Marion, who has also worked a lot. On the other hand, it could have been complicated for me to see her success, everything she experienced if I hadn’t been busy and I hadn’t worked. I think I might have had a bad experience.”

During this exchange, Guillaume Canet did not hesitate to mention the numerous rumors surrounding his relationship and castigated the media on this subject. “We are going through periods that the celebrity press has not stopped itself from highlighting. Not necessarily always in good times. It’s true that sometimes they are 4-5 months late. With stories not possible to lend us relationships with others”, he declares. Before expressing his feelings on this subject, he who must have struggled with notoriety: “There are moments when it makes me laugh, moments where it annoys me because it’s always looping on things (…) When we interfere too much in our private life, it’s complicated in do”.

The actor then recounted a traumatic event during the birth of his son, Marcel, to illustrate his words: “When you have a guy who climbs the wall of your house and comes to your house when your son is just born to go take pictures of you with your son. It goes far away because I’m going crazy, I see red, it goes into a fight and you end up with the police the day your son was born at home. You don’t actually want to experience that.”
