Lady Gaga often felt 'judged' for trying new things in her career

The star has learned to ignore public judgment when working on a new project.

Lady Gaga got into singing in the late 2000s and has since become an actress with starring roles in films such as “House of Gucci” and “Joker: Folie à Deux,” but she admitted that then as she prepares to release a “doom-jazz” style album, she must have embraced her “life force” when others might have raised their eyebrows.

She told the LA. Times: “There’s a surf-punk influence to the album. There is a doom-jazz influence on the album. There is a New Orleans influence on the album. It was through the lens of a woman who wants to be whoever she wants to be when she wants to be – a woman who will set the stage on fire if she wants to. In a way it was a challenge: when I sang jazz for most of my career, I think some people really liked it and others never understood why I deviated towards other genres. The beauty of my job is that I love learning music. I loved working with Tony [Bennett]. I loved doing “Harlequin.” I loved collaborating with all the DJs and Gesaffelstein on my new album. I loved getting to know industrial music and all areas of electronic music, then I loved working with Bruno [Mars]. »

She continues: “One of the things I've probably been judged for in my career has been that not just doing one thing, but doing lots of different things is what drives me.”
