On Sunday December 8 in the afternoon with the support of the municipality, the “music was in celebration”, the soprano singer Natacha Brouat gave a lyric recital in the church of Saint-Martin. Thanks to a friend from Saint-Martin, Geneviève Marty, who contacted her, this artist with a particularly melodious voice was able to perform a concert entitled “In Wonderland” in front of a captivated audience. This concert was divided into two parts; the first “The Marvelous at the Opera” including famous arias such as “Marguerite’s Bijoux” from Faust or “The Song of Solveig” from the opera Per Gunt among others. The soprano devoted the second part to the “celebration” in sacred airs; among these cantatas by Bach, a lullaby by Brahms, extracts from works by Monteverdi, Vivaldi and Pietro Yon.
Currently living in Couserans in Ariège, Natacha Brouhat writes and sings in the great outdoors “as close as possible to landscape writing”. She questions, in practice and in theory, the place of literature, poetry, theater and improvisation. After writing a memoir entitled “The voice, the place of the binder”, teaching French in Italy and continuing her singing studies in Brittany, she saw her poetry published in the anthology “Il fait un temps de pois” by Yvon LeMen (2019 Goncourt Prize).
