Fantastic universes intersect at Ceven’Geek Week in Alès

The great meeting place for fans of manga culture, cinema and video games.

Tetris, Super Mario or Pac-Man… video games from the 80s are eternal and even making a comeback. For this new edition of Ceven’Geek Week, at the Méjannes-lès-Alès exhibition center, many dads, fans of these old game consoles, have transmitted the virus to their children.

For collectors and cosplay enthusiasts (playing the role of a fictional character by reproducing their costume), this is a unique opportunity to find the sword from the Lord of the Rings, or the latest cards from the Pokémon game.

The entire world of manga, fantasy cinema and video games is present on the stands of the various professionals who come to host the show. Animations are widely discussed during demonstrations on stage.

Swaying your hips, rhythmically, while following Dina’s example, is far from easy, even if the audience lends itself to the game. The host is more at ease since she is an Olympic champion in Just Dance video game. She was crowned in Singapore, in 2023, during the first “Olympic e-sports series”, a competition validated by the International Olympic Committee.

Another intense moment for fans, the arrival of social media stars Dobby and Lebouseuh. The latter has more than 4.5 million subscribers to his channel. The two player hosts posed with their audience: children but also their parents.

It just goes to show that this meeting of Japanese and digital culture, but not only that, brings together generations.
