Sean Combs has abandoned his attempt to get bail, according to a new court filing.
The rapper’s lawyer told the Second U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals that he is withdrawing Combs’ appeal of several rulings denying him bail.
“Mr. Combs does not seek to appeal the district court’s denial of his new motion and hereby moves to voluntarily dismiss the appeal,” the filing states.
The filing includes a signed statement from Combs, certifying that he understands the consequences of denying the appeal.
“Mr. Combs hereby declares that (a) counsel has explained the effect of the voluntary dismissal of the appeal; (b) he understands the attorney’s explanation, and (c) he wishes to withdraw and voluntarily dismiss the appeal. »
Combs gained access to a computer while he awaits trial on sex trafficking, racketeering and transportation to engage in prostitution charges.
The musician – who remains incarcerated at the Brooklyn Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC) – has been given a laptop on which he can view documents relating to his criminal case, according to a court order obtained by E! News.
“The MDC was ordered to provide the accused with access to the Discovery laptop seven days a week from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.,” read a decree signed by Justice Arun Subramanian. “This can be in the visiting room of his unit or in the VTC room of his unit. »
Combs has pleaded not guilty to all charges against him.
