In an exclusive interview with Square Milethe rapper looks back on the challenges encountered in carrying out his ambitious project and delivers new revelations. If some doubted the sustainability of the project, his statements seem to reassure that his futuristic vision will continue.

Akon has made no secret of the political obstacles that have hindered Akon City’s progress. “We are building at the moment,” he explains with determination. “There were many political issues to resolve. Many things related to development were unforeseen. I had to learn on the job,” he confides. The dream of Akon City remains intact, but it will take time to build.
