The Nissim de Camondo Museum closed for work for more than a year

The Nissim de Camondo Museum is getting a makeover! From August 4, 2024, and until the beginning of 2026, the Parisian museum is closed for work.

Located in the 8th arrondissement of , near the Monceau parkthe Nissim de Camondo museum is often unknown to Parisians. This mansion was built in 1912 for Moïse de Camondo, banker and art collector. The wealthy financier installed his collections of works, art objects, furniture and goldsmiths from the 18th century there.

The architecture of the museum is inspired by Petit Trianonin . Its interior is a faithful reconstruction of an aristocratic residence from the Beautiful era.

This museum houses many treasures… Which are not accessible at the moment. Indeed, since August 4, 2024, and until the beginning of 2026, the Nissim de Camondo museum is entirely farm to the public. The art venue is benefiting from a long phase of works, which should last more than a year.

Details of these renovations have not been released. This mansion, more than a century old, must regularly be maintained and brought up to current standards, to better preserve the works on display, and to be able to welcome the public in good conditions.

We must therefore be patient: the Nissim de Camondo museum should reopen its doors at the beginning of 2026. In the meantime, art lovers can always visit the Museum of Decorative Artswhich is managed by the same group as the Nissim de Camondo museum.
