The rest after the ad

At 77, Camilla Parker Bowles’ health is beginning to be fragile. The announcement of the cancer of her husband, King Charles III, a few months ago, must have affected her morale but this is not the only reason why the queen consort has recently had to cancel several of her engagements. The mother-in-law of Princes William and Harry met new health problems which pushed the monarch’s wife’s doctors to take rest. Several British media, including The Sunhad announced in early November 2024 that Camilla Parker Bowles was “currently ill”. She contracted a chest infection after returning from the royal tour of Australia and Samoa. No additional details were then provided by Buckingham Palace, enough to worry fans of the royal family. She was therefore unable to participate in the Remembrance Day commemorationsdate of the signing of the armistice of 1918 and was also not present at the mass given in honor of this symbolic event.

A Palace spokesperson finally broke the silence to give some reassuring news. Her Majesty the Queen is currently ill due to a chest infection for which his doctors advised him a short period of rest. She had to withdraw from her commitments for this week but very much hopes to be back on her feet to attend this weekend’s events. we could have read. While Camilla Parker Bowles is expected to recover quickly from this infection, one of her past habits hasn’t really helped her. The Queen Consort is a former smoker and this old practice was never really to the king’s taste which also pushed her to stop this “disgusting habit”. It has now been more than 20 years since Camilla Parker Bowles therefore made the decision to quit smoking but several medical experts suggest that she could still suffer the consequences of smoking today.

A dangerous practice

Indeed, Professor Nick Hopkinson explained to our colleagues at Daily Mail : “Even if your lungs are slightly damaged by tobacco, you are more likely to get infections”. Professor William Cookson of the National Heart and Lung Institute at Imperial College said that smoking for ten years or more could unfortunately “cause permanent damage, which appears to make people prone to chest infections and increase the risk of diseases, such as lung cancer”.

Queen Camilla was not a little smoker since at the time when she still bought cigarettes, she had boxes full of silver in every room. Our colleagues at Dailymail have, pfor example, revealed that “When Camilla was still smoking, the servants were apparently instructed to place silver cigarette boxes containing her favorite brand in every room”. They also had to make sure that the match holders in solid silver containers were placed upright within easy reach with a match half removed so she didn’t have to scramble for one.”our colleagues clarified.
