More than sixty spectators came to the Cabanès village hall on Monday for a conference organized by Cepen’S.
An exceptional meeting around the fabulous project around the “march of time” between the three Cistercian barns of Bonnecombe, Moularès (bar barn) and Bernac. First, Nicolas Bonnafous, the artist from Moularès, projected “The March of Time”. Never short of explanations on the genesis of this project, which, inspired by the work “On the path of the monks” (co-written by Martine Houdet), draws its inspiration from the first steps of Man and Humanity 3.8 million years ago in Tanzania. “It is the transition from man to bipedalism, the symphony of the world will be able to be written…”according to the artist.
Nicolas Bonnafous is the designer of the work installed on the Place des Arthèsiens in Naucelle. Not long ago, he organized an exhibition at the Quincaillerie. Cathy Cazelles, for the Cistercians in Rouergue, took over to retrace the history of Bonnecombe Abbey, founded in 1120, and managed by Cistercian monks in 1167 on the orders of the clergy. Destroyed during the Revolution, it was rebuilt in 1875 by 12 building monks according to the rule of Saint Benedict. The Domaine then has 17 barns, including that of Bonnefon. The latter, in disuse, could not be restored by Cepen’S, despite all the energy deployed by its volunteers. However, there remain historical traces through the works of Jean Delmas, Gilbert Imbert and Daniel Crozes… To close the conference, Jacques Reynès and Didier Lacombe, using an IGN map and a slideshow, revealed the contours of the future “monks’ path”, an ambitious hiking route between the Tarn and Aveyron (48 km on each side) which promises to be under the best auspices. The conference continued around a “taï” meal, in a warm atmosphere. Cepen’S would like to thank the Cabanès town hall for making the village hall available.
