Students, managers, makeup artists, and even salespeople, the Disneyland park is starting a recruitment tour of France and Europe which will pass through Marseille but also Naples and Seville to recruit the 7,000 vacant positions. If this is the 3rd edition for operational professions, the new thing for 2024 is that there will also be castings for artistic jobs such as actors, dancers and singers. In this period marked by repeated social plans, these job offers go against the trend, even if the hotel and catering industry has been in tight flow everywhere since Covid.

Contract durations range from 15 days to permanent depending on candidate availability, profiles and desires. “We are indeed looking for 7,000 positions including 1,500 on permanent contracts, there are very strong needs over the Christmas period, holidays, but also throughout the year, this ranges from seasonal, student or permanent employment”, explains Cécile Balta, HR Director for Disneyland Paris. Called the “casting tour”, recruiters from the amusement park come to meet potential employees in the cities of , , and Marseille, but also in Italy, Naples and in Spain in Seville. The positions sought are mainly in the hotel, catering, reception and technical services, so-called operational jobs, but also positions such as sales, digital marketing, human resources, legal.

The park offers interviews on Wednesdays all year round, but this “tour” is an opportunity to get closer to job seekers. “Some profiles are very interesting and before, we missed out, because they did not necessarily take the step of coming to Paris and offering their services, the cost of a train ticket without certainty of hiring can be a barrier. And for online job applications, we realize that many workers are still digitally distant. We don’t ask a clerk to write a nice CV or a nice cover letter, we expect him to be good at his job, and that’s often the case.” specifies the HR department.

This is also why applicants can make an appointment online. “to come see us, but we will also welcome people who come spontaneously, even without a CV”, insists Cécile Balta. It’s desire and motivation, a bonus and skills.

Whether for short contracts or long contracts, the park pulls out all the stops by offering housing or transport assistance.”which are the main points of expenditure”.

For fixed-term contracts, even of very short duration, “nearly 1,200 studio-type accommodations are offered in two specific residences dedicated to employees, with free WiFi and numerous services like on a campus.”, details the HR department. As for permanent workers, who come from all over France to settle in the Paris region with their family, “help to find accommodation is provided, whether in private parks or social housing”also specifies Cécile Balta. And for everyone, “the navigo pass is reimbursed at 80%”.

The interviews are “quite short and the responses quite quick too, if they have gone through the site, the candidates are already directed according to their skills towards the right recruitment service.

If candidates are not available on December 3 in Marseille, for an interview during the tour, they can submit a request for an appointment in the city of their choice on the site and access a video conference interview. The “casting tour” began on September 16 in Lille and stopped in October in Spain and Italy and is due to spend this week in Copenhagen and Oslo before arriving on December 3 in Marseille. From January, the cities of , Tours and Dublin and Montpellier should host this XXL recruitment. “The languages spoken at the Park are mainly French and English, but we are also looking for profiles from other countries, to be able to best meet the expectations and ways of consuming foreign visitors and we want to speak to them in their mother tongue, this is also why we bring together throughout Europe“, explains Cécile Balta, HR Director for Disneyland Paris. It is at the Mercure hotel in Marseille, on the Old Port that the big “casting tour” of the Marne-la-vallée park takes place.
