Who says, end-of-year celebrations, necessarily means fir trees, fake snow, ugly sweaters and especially Mariah Carey going all out with balloons. The singer knows this only too well since, each year, she receives around 2.5 million dollars in royalties for her song All I Want for Christmas is you. She also has fun every year launching this winter season that is hers.
That way, you’ll have it in your head for the whole day.
This song is so cult that if you type its title into Google, you will be treated to an animation with little snowflakes. Released on November 1, 1994, this hit celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2024. For the occasion, Mariah Carey saw the big picture by launching a pop-up bar concept. This pop-up, called Mariah Carey Black Irish Holiday Bar, is the result of a partnership between the singer and the hotel group Virgin Hotels. It will allow you to enjoy themed cocktails in a setting inspired by the Queen herself, in Chicago, New York, Dallas, Nashville and New Orleans.
For the decor, lots of red, lots of gold and neon, with a huge bright “All I Want For Christmas Is You”. There will also be a giant Christmas wreath designed to sit on and recreate the iconic album cover Magical Christmas Special. Additionally, an interactive photo booth with Mariah Carey herself will be available, as well as a dedicated space to write your own Christmas wishes, with a specially designed mailbox.

To live this unforgettable experience, you will have to pay 20 dollars and not spend more than 90 minutes in the bar, but there is a free cocktail. For those who wish to enjoy more than just a drink, cocktails specially created for the occasion will be offered inspired by Mariah Carey’s repertoire. Among them: the Make My Wish Come True Martini, the It’s Time and the Queen of Christmas Cocoa. All are prepared with cream whiskey, Bailey’s style, since the singer has her own brand of spirits, called Black Irish.

Mariah Carey isn’t the only pop star who wants to tap into the magic of Christmas. She even sees herself competing on her own turf by the new generation, notably by Sabrina Carpenter. The 25-year-old singer plans to hit screens around the world with her debut “Christmas Special,” titled A Nonsense Christmas with Sabrina Carpenter. This program, mixing sketches and musical moments, will be broadcast on December 6, 2024 on Netflix.
