Braian Nahuel Paiz, an Argentinian waiter named by the investigation as Liam Payne’s alleged “dealer”, said he met the singer twice before the latter’s tragic fall on October 16. “We did drugs together,” he admitted in a November 8 interview with the “Telefe Noticias” show, while strongly refuting having provided drugs to Liam Payne or accepted money in exchange. The Argentine authorities, ruling out the hypothesis of suicide, are continuing their investigations.
The first meeting between Liam Payne and Braian Nahuel Paiz dates back to October 2, in a restaurant in Puerto Madero where the latter worked. The One Direction member was dining there with his partner Kate Cassidy and two others. “I had my first contact with Liam at work. We talked and saw each other later that night. He spoke to me through a secret Instagram profile, but everything else was normal,” the waiter said, adding that Liam Payne played him music in his room.
The second meeting took place on the evening of October 13, in the star’s room at the CasaSur hotel. “We did drugs together in his room. I stayed there all night. I used marijuana and he used cocaine, the cocaine that we see in all the photos that were published after his death,” he detailed. He insists Liam showed no aggressive behavior and was “very nice” during their interaction.
Braian Nahuel Paiz, whose house was searched without police questioning, maintains he was never a drug supplier to Liam Payne. “I never gave him drugs and I never accepted money. I have messages in which he offers me money, but I have never accepted anything,” he said, explaining that the singer even wanted to give him clothes as a souvenir. He concludes that he knows nothing about the two other suspects also linked to the ongoing investigation.
