The influencer Kenza Benchrif, alias Poupette Kenza, admitted to having mandated a henchman in the extortion case for which she had been imprisoned, her lawyer Jérémy Kalfon told AFP on Wednesday, confirming information from the Parisian.

“Madame Benchrif acknowledges having accepted this man’s offer of service, after unsuccessfully resorting to mutual friends and lawyers”declared Me Kalfon.

“If she knew that this man was going to impress her former agent and her husband with his build and the effect of surprise, she never validated the direct or indirect threats of physical violence,” he continued.

Indicted for attempted extortion by an organized gang and criminal association in a case investigated in , the influencer was placed in pre-trial detention in July before being released on October 31 and placed under judicial supervision.

“She said: ‘effectively, I accepted, I was offered to mandate this guy to go and solve my problem, I accepted, I obviously knew that it would be a bit of pressure (…) But that’s not the case. ‘is not at all what I asked'”added Me Kalfon.

“If we criticize influencers a lot, we must not forget that, like football players, they are the object of a lot of desire. Many people gravitate around them and claim to have solutions to all their problems in order to gain their good graces in the hope of obtaining money”, argued the lawyer.

The young woman, aged 24, is pregnant with her third child.

The case was triggered by the complaint, on February 23, 2024, of a couple who “is the subject of various surveillance (physical, installation of mini-camera near their home and GPS beacon placed on their vehicle) and was physically threatened on condition of handing over a sum of 200,000 euros”explained the Rouen public prosecutor last July.

The influencer’s companion, Allan Liehrmann, established in Dubai, returned to France on September 23 “to explain oneself to justice”. Arrested at the airport, he was in turn indicted for the same facts and imprisoned.
