Fears are confirmed for fans of ultra high definition physical media. Here (2024)Robert Zemeckis’ latest film with a bold and innovative concept, will likely not benefit from any 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray release in the United States.
Sony Pictures has formalized the video disc release of the film, and the press release is clear: only standard Blu-ray and DVD editions are planned.
The film has, however, been distributed in digital version up to 2160p Dolby Vision since November 26 on American platforms. Collectors in the USA will not only have to wait until January 21 for an equivalence in physical media, but above all be content with a simple Blu-ray version.

This absence of 4K UHD Blu-ray edition is all the more surprising given that it is a work by the illustrious Robert Zemeckis, supported by the performances of Tom Hanks and Robin Wright, with a digital recording produced at using RED V-RAPTOR VV cameras, equipped with an 8K full-frame sensor. This editorial choice is obviously perplexing and accentuates growing fears about the future of UHD Blu-ray support, even for technically remarkable productions signed by renowned filmmakers.
In France, at the time of writing this article, Here (2024) is only listed in DVD edition on reseller platforms, with a release set for March 12, 2025.
