It’s far from over between Kevin Owens and Randy Orton. The two wrestlers were scheduled to face each other at WWE Crown Jewel 2024, but their match was canceled following a brawl that ended through tables.
On the November 8 episode of SmackDown, the first since Crown Jewel, Randy Orton entered the ring to invite Kevin Owens to join him. The latter answered the call, but barely arrived, a violent fight broke out between the two men. The confrontation concluded with a piledriver carried by Kevin Owens on Randy Orton, a hold banned in WWE for many years because it was considered too risky.
Following this hold, Randy Orton had to be taken out of the ring on a stretcher by WWE officials. The 14-time world champion was then transported by ambulance, accompanied by Cody Rhodes, undisputed WWE champion, who remained by his side.
Later in the show, commentator Michael Cole revealed that Randy Orton was being examined for neck injuries, obviously part of the storyline. An absence of several weeks seems likely after the events that occurred during this segment on SmackDown.
