Coldplay singer Chris Martin fell through a stage trapdoor during the band’s concert on Sunday at Marvel Stadium in Melbourne, Australia.

In videos posted to social media, Chris Martin is seen diving backwards through a hidden door to enter the stage.
After recovering from the incident, Chris Martin told his fans that “this wasn’t planned” before thanking a team member for catching him as he fell.
We hear him say, laughing: “Damn, that was almost a YouTube moment!”

The singer continued with the show and appeared not to be seriously injured. More fear than harm, fortunately.
This performance was the last of their world tour Music Of The Spheres for their album released in October 2021.

Coldplay has just released their tenth album, titled Moon Musicwhich earned the title of best opening week for a British band in the last three years.
The London-formed group is now tied with ABBA, Michael Jackson and Queen, all having ten number one albums.
A second fall in a month in Australia
Three weeks ago, Olivia Rodrigo was also performing in Melbourne, Australia, when she too inadvertently fell into a trapdoor during a concert.
“Oh my god, that was fun…I’m fine!” exclaimed Rodrigo. “Sometimes there’s just a hole in the scene. It’s not serious.”
The American singer admitted the fall was “pretty scary”, and that she went to hospital to confirm there was no concussion.
