After asking Chris Martin to come and play one of his unreleased tracks to be released, a couple from Pas-de-Calais were able to broadcast the song “All My Love” in world premiere on D-Day.
Paul and Céline, 26, still find it hard to believe it. This couple from Pas-de-Calais had the privilege of opening their wedding ceremony last September with a then-unreleased song by Coldplay. A chance that they created by showing nerve and determination, as they confided to BFMTV.
It all started last June, during one of the British group’s three concerts at Groupama Stadium in Lyon. Paul and Céline came to applaud him by brandishing a very specific sign: they are asking the band led by Chris Martin to come and play All My Love on their wedding day.
At that time, the song had not yet been released. Fans only heard a short clip played by Chris Martin during one of their previous shows. The latter sees the couple’s sign in the crowd and, as images show, responds “maybe” with a smile.
Social Media Race
From there, the couple multiplied messages on social networks in the hope of getting a response from the group. It was finally Phil Harvey, manager of the group, who replied to them two days before their wedding: “Congratulations, Paul! I’ll see what I can do”, he wrote to them.
Upon receiving this message, Paul did not immediately realize: “I saw the notification as just another notification,” he recalled to BFMTV. “Then my phone vibrated non-stop for ten to fifteen minutes.”
“I told myself that something must be happening. When I discovered the number of mentions, of ‘likes’ that we had received… it was impressive. And we realized account while finishing preparing the guests’ gifts!”
World premiere
Phil Harvey, if he did not manage to get the group to attend their wedding, nevertheless managed to give them the song as a gift All My Love world premiere. Paul and Céline received a studio version of the song via an ultra-secure link from the record company and performed their first dance to this piece on September 7, on the evening of their wedding near Boulogne-sur-Mer.
“We received it the day before, we cried several times when we heard it and on D-Day, it took on a different dimension,” they remember.
“We, like the guests, didn’t really realize how lucky we were. Exclusive music, from a global group that we’ve been following for years… It was magical. There was nothing nothing more beautiful as a gift on a wedding day. You couldn’t hope for better.
The rest of the fans only discovered the title in its entirety on Friday October 4 with the release of Moon Musicthe group’s tenth album, including All My Love is extracted.
