“I’m sure she will come back”, Vanessa’s parents testify eight years after her disappearance in Langrune-sur-Mer

A file never closed

On December 6, 2016, Vanessa Melet, 37, disappeared in Langrune-sur-Mer, near . After initial investigations and a long series of hearings at the time of the events, the investigation ran out of steam and Vanessa’s family was left without news. His mother, Annick, and his stepfather, Michel Daigle, now aged 72 and 75, decided at the time to investigate on their own.

For several years, they collected all the clues and requested their daughter’s file from the courts. In total, more than 5,000 pages make up the case file.

“I am 99.99% sure I know who is responsible”

On the gate leading to the entrance to their house in Langrune-sur-Mer, the one where Vanessa was last seen, the parents decided to leave the photos of the call for witnesses. “Unfortunately, I sometimes hear the reflections when I’m in my garden, passers-by say: but they haven’t found her yet?“, explains Michel.

For eight years, the couple have been investigating tirelessly and believe they know who is responsible. I’m 99.99% sure to know who is responsible”says the father-in-law. “Family life is over. Christmases and all the holidays, we no longer do anything, no more mealssays Vanessa’s mother, before continuing, “It’s been eight years since I went on vacation. I’m too scared that Vanessa will come back here while I’m gone.”

But the couple remains convinced that their daughter will return.
