It’s also back to school at the Conserverie de Castelsarrasin, in this magnificent location on the outskirts, at the gateway to the countryside (at 461 chemin de Saint-Nicolas), a setting for unforgettable musical evenings.
“We are therefore going to resume our good habits, in particular with the resumption of the Jazz’Club, monthly evenings dedicated to jazz and its peripheral music,” explain the directors of the establishment. Organized in collaboration with the singer and musician from Montauban, Mia Bocquillet, they offer hand-picked artists, whose universe is always worthy of interest, in a lounge atmosphere with the possibility of catering.
A journey to the confines of jazz
Thus, on Saturday, September 28, the doors of the Conserverie will be open from 8 p.m. to receive the public, before the concert of the company “Very Jazz Trip” from 9 p.m. This quintet offers us a journey to the confines of Jazz music from all horizons. The sparkling Sandrine Baillard, as comfortable in English and Creole as in French, leads the dance, punctuated by the interventions of Jean-Pierre Garrigues, all in muffled layers on the bugle or brilliant riffs on the trumpet. As for Nicolas Cheleux on keyboards, energizes the whole with his swing drive and his devastating “montunos”. Finally, Norick Tisseur on drums and Jeff Duprat on double bass provide a flawless groove to the rhythm to propel this true musical vessel. The group invites spectators for an imminent departure from Toulouse where it has its ties, for stopovers in Rio, New York or even Fort-de-France: “Welcome on board, for a beautiful musical and festive evening at the Conserverie!” At the end of the concert, the stage will be open for a possible jam session on great popular standards.
