on the set of “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?”

WE WERE THERE – Three months ago, Arthur took over the Dôme de -Palais des sports to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the TF1 game show. We attended the first day of filming.

At the end of June, it was with a limp, due to a bad fall during rehearsals, thatArthur has boxed the two 25th anniversary episodes of “Who wants to be a millionaire? broadcast this Friday, September 20 and Friday, September 27 at 9:10 p.m. on TF1. “They gave me painkillers, maybe at some point I’ll fall asleep, I can already feel like I’m fainting.”warns the host to the spectators at the Dôme de Paris-Palais des Sports who have come in large numbers. Without losing his smile and his humor, he adds: “Thank you for being here, I am proud to relaunch the game”. Before being ironic: “Plus, we’re lucky, it’s freezing.”And for good reason, the Parisian performance hall does not have air conditioning and the heat is stifling.

Behind the scenes, Lea Salame who is quenching his thirst with a Coca-Cola Zero, inquires about Arthur’s condition: “Did he break his foot?”. His sidekick from “What a time!” Philippe Caverivière who is not far away, seems less relaxed than the journalist. “I feel very, very badhe confesses to us. Worse than before an exam because failing the baccalaureate is not serious but failing pediatric cancers is more serious.”he emphasizes. The duo, who are the first to perform that evening, are in fact playing for the Léo association, of which the comedian and columnist is the sponsor. Despite the stakes, Philippe Caverivière has not trained and has not revised: “When Arthur invited me, I immediately called the only intelligent person I know, Léa, so I’m counting on her.”. Not nice for Alex Vizorek! “He is less intelligent” he retorts, laughing. The game will prove him right.

In front of a screen, Jarry And Kev Adams have fun answering questions and allow themselves to make a few remarks. “There, people in front of their TV say to themselves: “Move forward or I’ll put on 2”»jokes the judge of “Mask Singer” while dragging on his cigarette. For his part, the former host of “Tout le monde veut prendre sa place” says he is delighted to see Arthur again. “I haven’t seen him for two years and now I find an old man with a limp.”he jokes.

“Who wants to be a millionaire?” Arthur is the only one who knows what it is.”

Jarry

At the end of their game, Léa Salamé and Philippe Caverivière seemed stunned but delighted. “It’s very stressful but it’s good because we’re natural in fact. At the beginning, we play the TV game and then we really believe in it. Arthur is very good because he made me doubt five times”the journalist confesses to us. “I was very good in choosing my partner, she was brilliant on several occasions. My only talent is to have chosen her”recognizes the comedian and columnist. And Léa Salamé concludes: “We are happy with the winnings, it is still good for the association and it gave it some great publicity”.

When it’s Kev Adams and Jarry’s turn, the jokes start flying before the game even starts again. “When did you leave school?”Arthur asks Jarry seriously. “I was lucky to break the scores since I got my baccalaureate”. And Kev Adams bounces back: “I was lucky enough to just fart, I was bloated.”. Not sure if the joke was kept in the editing.

When it comes to discovering the pyramid of gains, Kev Adams does not hide his ambition: “We came to hit the million mark!”. “There is no age to believe in Santa Claus”retorts the hilarious host. “My goal is 100 euros”adds Jarry. “You would have to reach 12,000 euros which is the price of your new hair, 100 euros is just the price of the gel for Kev”Arthur then says. He did very badly. “Who wants to be a millionaire?” Arthur is the only one who knows what it is.”Jarry said a few moments later. “When they told me Arthur was going to host ‘Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?’, I thought he was giving away his personal fortune.”Kev Adams says. Stung, the host only replies: “There are words you can’t say on TV like ‘bastards’!”. Again, not sure if the sequence will be broadcast.

The anguish of Jean-Pierre Foucault

Over the course of the two evenings, candidates will be able to win up to one million euros by going through several levels. And to be able to progress, they will have three jokers: the traditional 50/50, the call to a friend and the opinion of the public. But, in addition, some will be entitled to the “vox populi”. The spectators who think they have the right answer will stand up, and the candidates will choose one of them to find out his answer. It’s up to them to follow him or not. “Huh, what’s this new rule, why is it happening to us?”Jarry wonders. “You could have been funnier like those who think they have the right answer fight, and whoever is left at the end, we choose their answer”suggests Kev Adams. “Viewers are going to want to go on TV, miskine, just to do: “Hello mom”»Jarry advances. Unfortunately for the two troublemakers, the game will not go as they had imagined and the disappointment will be bitter.

The atmosphere is completely different with Jean-Pierre Foucault And Jean-Luc Lemoine Armed with his crutch, Arthur insists on personally greeting the game’s historic host backstage. Once on stage, he is given a standing ovation and fireworks. “How can we imagine celebrating the 25th anniversary of “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” without having Jean-Pierre Foucault? You are the soul of this show. I will try to be at your level to freak you out like all the times you made me anxious in this chair.”says Arthur. Despite his experience and these two previous participations as a candidate, Jean-Pierre Foucault feels a certain anxiety. “It’s been a long time since I’ve been this nervous.”he admits. Once the game starts, everyone gets impatient to hear Arthur say: “Is this your last word?” And Jean-Pierre Foucault replied: “Yes Arthur” to the applause of the audience.

Backstage, both men are satisfied with their performance. “I am very, very happy to have reached this substantial sum.”comments the 76-year-old presenter. “Finding myself in “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” with Jean-Pierre Foucault, that’s good, I can retire”concludes the comedian.

Bruno Solo in duo with Claudia Tagbo will follow then François-Xavier Demaison and Stéphane de Groodt will close the doors of this first day of shooting. The next day, Arthur will bring together Dany Boon and Laurence Arné, Claire Chazal and Paul Mirabel, Bruno Solo and Claudia Tagbo, François-Xavier Demaison and Stéphane De Groodt, as well as Laurent Ruquier and Michèle Bernier. Before taking a well-deserved vacation.
